Nervous system injuries disturbs\u00a0 VATA and ayurvedic remedies try to get it back in balance.<\/span><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<h2><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">CAUSES OF SPINAL CORD INJURIES:<\/span><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The most common cause involves,<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">1.TRAUMA: <\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Like motor vehicle injuries, falls, sports injuries, violence etc.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">2.NON TRAUMATIC CAUSES:<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Degenerative disease: Conditions like spinal stenosis, arthritis or herniated discs.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Infections: Such as tuberculosis or abscesses affecting the spinal cord.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Congenital Disorders: Including spina bifida.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Tumors: Growth that compresses the spinal cord.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">TYPES OF SPINAL CORD INJURIES:<\/span><\/h2>\n<h4><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">1.COMPLETE INJURY:<\/span><\/h4>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">This happens when there is so much damage or injury to the spinal cord that the brain and body below the injury site can no longer communicate.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Below the degree of injury, it causes complete loss of motor (movement) and sensory (feeling) abilities.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h4><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">2.INCOMPLETE INJURY:<\/span><\/h4>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Since the spinal cord is only partially injured in this ,still there will be some degree of connectivity between the brain and regions underneath the injury site.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h4><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">COMMON TYPES OF INCOMPLETE SCIs:<\/span><\/h4>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">1.Anterior Cord Syndrome: Injury to the anterior (front) portion of the spinal cord that maintains touch, vibration and proprioception but impairs motor function, pain and temperature perception.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">2.Central Cord Syndrome: Injury to the spinal cord&#8217;s center that causes weakness in the arms more than the legs and may result in issues with the bladder.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">3.Brown-Sequard Syndrome: Impairment to one side of the spinal cord results in lack of sensation and movement on that side, while the other side loses its ability to feel pain and temperature.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>4.Posterior Cord Syndrome: The posterior (back) portion of the spinal cord is damaged, resulting in a loss of fine touch and coordination while maintaining motor function.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">5.Conus medullaris syndrome: Usually affecting at the level of L1-L2 vertebrae, this condition is brought on by damage to the conus medullaris, the cone-shaped lower end of the spinal cord. The nerve roots that regulate the lower limb, bowel and reproductive functions are located in this area. CMS may be brought on by vascular disorders, tumors, infections, spinal disc herniation or trauma.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">6.Cauda Equina Syndrome: Cauda Equina Syndrome also known as Horse tail syndrome, is an occasional but dangerous disorder that develops when the cauda equina, a bundle of nerves at the base of the spinal cord is squeezed. These nerves control the lower body&#8217;s motor and sensory functions, including those of the legs, bladder and intestines.<\/span><\/p>\n<h3><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">CLASSIFICATION BASED ON LOCATION:<\/span><\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Cervical Spinal Cord Injuries(C1-C8):Can lead to quadriplegia(paralysis in both arms and legs).<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Thoracic Spinal Cord\u00a0 Injuries(T1-T2):Typically affects the chest and legs, often resulting in paraplegia.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Lumbar and Sacral Spinal Cord Injuries(L1-S5):Generally affects the legs and lower body.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">SYMPTOMS OF SPINAL CORD INJURIES<\/span><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Depending on the extent and location of the injury, spinal cord injuries can cause a variety of symptoms.
