Mandookaparni- Centella Asiatica
Mandookaparni is a common weed in India whose leaves resemble the shape of a frog, hence the name (Mandooka -Frog; Parni- Leaf). Because of its intellect and memory-enhancing properties, this drug is frequently confused with Brahmi herb (Bacopa monnieri). It belongs to a class of drugs known as Medhya Rasayanas (Psychotropic Drugs- Drugs that affect mood and behavior).

Potential Side-effects
-Usually rare but may include Skin Allergies, Burning sensations when used topically, Headache, Dizziness, Diarrhoea, and Nausea when used in high doses.
-Mandookaparni should be avoided by women trying to conceive as it may cause Spontaneous Abortions.
– Similarly, breastfeeding women should also avoid using this herb as there is limited information available about the possible effects of Mandookaparni on Breastfeeding women.
